FAQ
Q: Are there extra costs for holiday visits?
A: NO! We currently do not charge current and new clients an additional fee for
taking care of their pets during a holiday time. Your rate stays the same throughout
the year regardless of the day!
Q: Who are you insured and bonded with?
A: Pet Comfort and Care, Inc. is insured and bonded with the Business Insurers of
the Carolinas. We carry the maximum limits of liability insurance and bonding in
the industry. We will gladly provide copies upon request.
Q: What does it mean when you say that your company is bonded?
A: Our business is bonded to protect our customers from loss as a result of theft
committed by our staff. Carrying this bond shows our full confidence in our company
and staff. This also makes our customers feel more comfortable allowing our pet
sitters in their home to provide care for the pets in their absence.
Q: Do you offer boarding services?
A: We do NOT offer our clients boarding services. According to the American Humane
Society, pets are happiest when they are left at home, surrounded by familiar sights,
sounds, smells, and protected from the stress and potential exposure to illness
often encountered at many boarding facilities (a.k.a "pet hotels"). Our business
allows you the peace of mind to leave your pet in their environment and stick to
their normal routine without the risk of kennel cough, canine influenza, parasites
or other unfortunate hazards of boarding services.
Q: What if I need emergency pet care service?
A: We understand that unexpected things happen in life, and thus our services would
be needed at the last moment. If you are a current customer with a key on file,
in most cases we would be able to provide same day service to you. If you are a
new customer, we would do our very best to accommodate the request.
Q: What are your business hours?
A: Our office is open M-F from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. If we don't answer during
business hours, this means that we are assisting another customer. Please leave
a message and we will return your call within the hour. We check voicemail and email
frequently after hours and on weekends.
Q: How do I know that my key is safe?
A: Your key is securely placed in the office in our safe identified only by your
pet's name. No personal or home information is attached to the key for your safety.
A client key agreement which is presented at the initial consultation further outlines
the details.
Q: Do you administer medication to pets?
A: We will administer medication in the form of pills, drops, and injections. Please
mention this in your initial request and we will go over the details at the consultation
to ensure that both parties are comfortable and confident with what is required.
Q: When is payment due?
A: We prefer that the payment is received at the consultation when the invoice is
presented; however, leaving the check on the counter for the sitter's first visit
is also acceptable for both new and existing customers. Other arrangements are also
available of need be--please contact our office at 919.272.0467 for further details.
Q: Do you care for birds or fish?
A: YES! We care for all animals, as long as they do not pose a danger to our staff.
We do not care for any animals with a history of biting or attacking other animals
or people.
Q: Can you recommend a vet for my dog?
A: We would be happy to recommend other pet services that our clients have found
to be wonderful! Please contact us via email at
